Pupil Profile (3)

Our Pupil Profile is in action all day every day at St Mary's. See some examples below:

Love

Peace

"Love one another as I have loved you" John 13:34

Love is the value that overarches all others. Love is shown throughout the school and in our classrooms. All other values come through the motive of our love for each other and God's love for us as unique and special individuals made in his image.

The love between Jesus and his disciples, Derek Redman for his son, the Brownlee brothers and Maximillian Kolbe for a stranger are all examples of Jesus' New Commandment.

Belief

"For nothing will be impossible with God" Luke 1:37

For every member of our school community to thrive, it is vital that we all have belief in God, in each other and in ourselves.

To look for evidence of these values in others, we will be learning about Doubting Thomas, Noah, Pope John Paul II, Helen Keller and charity volunteers.

Peace

"Peace be with you" John 14:27

We seek peace within our own lives, within relationships with other members of our community and the wider world family.

To understand what peace means, we will be learning about the Calming of the Storm, the Last Supper, United Nations Peace Keepers, Ghandi and those who have protested against oppresion.

Mercy

Truth

Mercy

"Father forgive them, they know not what they do" Luke 23:24

At St Mary's, we encourage each other to accept and learn from mistakes.  Mercy for ourselves is often just as important as the mercy we show to others.

Jesus is a role model for us all through the way that he showed forgiveness to those around him, even at the time of his crucifixion.  As a school, we also find out about Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Mizzen's parents and Malala.

Servise to use

"Through love, serve one another" Galatians 5:13

We all serve each other in any way that we can.

Jesus' disciples, Moses, the Royal Family, the emergency services and Mother Teresa all show us how we can serve one another.

Truth

'The Truth will set you free" John 8:32

Sometimes the truth is hard to speak and to hear.  We encourage the truth from everyone as it enables steps forward to take place.

Ruth, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther-King and Pope Francis are all people who have encouraged others to speak the truth.
