Achieving the CAFOD LiveSimply Award
We are incredibly proud to share that back in November 2025, our school was awarded the CAFOD LiveSimply Award , recognising our commitment to living out our faith through action. This award celebrates the work we have done as a whole school community to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with those in need, both locally and globally.
The LiveSimply Award, inspired by the teachings of Pope Francis in Laudato Si’, encourages schools to care for God’s creation and support others through meaningful, faith-driven action. Throughout our journey, our pupils have taken an active role in putting these values into practice.
We have worked hard to make thoughtful choices that reflect living simply, such as reducing waste, promoting recycling and encouraging sustainable habits across the school. Our children have also shown a deep sense of compassion and justice by supporting charitable causes, fundraising for CAFOD and reaching out to those in our local community. Through prayer, reflection and collective action, pupils have developed a growing understanding of how their choices can make a difference in the world.
This achievement reflects the dedication of our pupils, staff, families and wider community, who have all contributed to making our school a place where Gospel values are lived out each day. It is a wonderful example of our mission in action, as we strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus by caring for others and for our common home.
We are delighted to have received this award and remain committed to continuing this important work, ensuring that living simply, caring deeply and acting justly remain at the heart of all that we do.
How our journey began...
We chose a group of LiveSimply ambassadors who met up together on a regular basis to discuss how we could live more simply, sustainably and in solidarity with others.
During our first meeting, we came up with our action plan. This was an exciting opportunity to discuss ideas and bring our thoughts together. Our action plan is attached below.
